Buck Is Done But Not Forgotten
And that is the way it goes, all of those special things we feel nostalgic for, here goes another one by the way side. With sad feelings, I read today that Buck at Go Get Bucked is hanging up his blogger keyboard and calling it quits. I only knew Buck as a member of his setxtrailerpark.com forum, his blog and a couple of emails we exchanged while he was on KOLE radio. I really enjoyed his Saturday radio program, nothing polished but he made a connection to the common guy in southeast Texas when he talked about the issues at hand.
Buck, after keeping up with you on your blog, I hope you get everything in order to bring your life to the fullest for you and your family. I assume that you are in your early 30's, so when you write about getting older, yes you are getting older. But be glad you are not in my position, I'll turn 58 years young this October and it will be time for another colonoscopy (every 5 years), a nuclear imaging for the heart (every 2 years) and a gloved finger (annually). Until you get to that stage in your life, you are still young. So enjoy it my friend. Time will catch up with you soon enough but until then, enjoy every minute the good Lord gives you.
Thanks for all the good times on the internet and the radio.
Your friend,
Bob

Something More Powerful Than A Gun
If you believe the world around us is loveless, you hit a bull eye on that target. Nowadays, one has to walk around their home and out in public with some type of protection from all the evil ones. Folks are always asking me what is the best weapon to carry concealed for their protection. My answers vary depending on the person and the situations involved. But for all of you packing heat on the streets, you have your gun, your holster and your defensive ammo but don't forget the most important item- Your Faith. I have the utmost admiration for this Tennessee lady, she was packing the most powerful weapon known to mankind when her attacker jumped into her car.
All of you, have a safe and fun weekend.

Dubya Really Is Stupid
After 8 years, I must admit that I voted for one of the stupidest people to be President of the United States of America. Bush defended a rapist and murderer, because the man is an illegal alien and, therefore, should be turned over to the authority of the United Nation World Court according to Bush. When he was Texas Governor, he signed more than 150 death warrants. So has Dubya gone soft on crime after 7 years in The White House? Or is he trying to appease the Mexican government to help create his New World Order? Either way, I can't wait for the next 9 months to be over and the American citizens elect a new President.

Airline Pilots Packing Heat
After the cowardly attacks on September 11, 2001, airline pilots are now allowed to carry weapons aboard flights. This past weekend, a gun belonging to the pilot of a US Airways flight went off as the plane was on approach to land in North Carolina, the first time a weapon issued under a federal program to arm pilots was fired according to authorities. Thankfully this 'accidental discharge' didn't injure any of the crew or passengers. Before a pilot can keep a gun in the cockpit, he or she must take a psychological test and complete a firearms training program run by the government to qualify. Hopefully this incident doesn't deter future carrying of firearms by pilots. When I fly, I feel better when my pilot makes this announcement to his passengers.

Gun History Lesson
A Little Gun History Lesson. In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun
control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend
themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million
Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13
million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up
and exterminated.
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million
political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
exterminated.
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan
Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000
Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million
'educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
exterminated.
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because
of gun control: 56 million.
It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new
law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own
government, a program costing Australia t axpayers more than $500 million
dollars. The first year results are now in:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent
Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300
percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the
criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!
It will never happen here? I bet the Aussies said that too!
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed
robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12
months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.
There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety
has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in
successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience
and the other historical facts above prove it.
You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians
disseminating this information.
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes,
gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citi zens.
Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!
The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind him of
this history lesson.
With Guns...........We Are 'Citizens'.
Without Them........We Are 'Subjects'.
During W.W.II the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!
Note: Admiral Yamamoto who crafted the attack on Peal Harbor had attended
Harvard U 1919-1921 & was Naval Attaché to the U. S. 1925-28. Most of our
Navy was destroyed at Pearl Harbor & our Army had been deprived of funding &
was ill prepared to defend the country.
It was reported that when asked why Japan did not follow up the Pearl Harbor
attack with an invasion
of the U. S. Mainland, his reply was that he had lived in the U. S. & knew
that almost all households had guns.
If you value your freedom, Please spread this anti-gun control message to
all your friends!

Dear Abby- Worried in New York
Dear Abby,
I am a 60-year-old woman who is married to a man who acts like he hates me. In public, he pretends he loves me and talks about how wonderful I am. But in private, he shakes his finger in my face and calls me the "B" word. He constantly tells me how ugly I am without make-up. I've tried everything, including a face-lift, botox treatments, and a chin tuck. I even went on a diet and lost 20 pounds.
He quit his job a few years ago after having an affair with a woman in his office. He hasn't even looked for another job. We haven't slept together since I confronted him about the affair. He denied it, of course, but everybody knew it. It was humiliating. I believe he is still messing around.
While we both want to sell this house, we argue constantly about when to put it on the market. The house we want will be available in a few months. My husband wants to put our house on the market now. I think we should wait a while. He has already started collecting boxes and packing up his stuff. Do you think he is planning to leave me?
Signed,
Worried in NY
Dear Worried in NY:
I doubt it. He wants to move back into the White House as much as you do.

Beer Fights Cancer
Is it any surprise that my favorite beverage is now enlisted in the war against cancer? Beer contains a cancer-fighting compound called xanthohumol. Though you may need to drink over 100 gallons per day to derive any benefit, every little bit helps in my opinion. It's just what the doctor ordered.

Magazine Capacity Counts In A Gunfight
One of the most debatable subjects in the concealed gun community is whether to carry a smaller caliber weapon with more magazine capacity or a larger caliber weapon with less magazine capacity.
If you look at the three most prevalent calibers, you see that there is very little difference between them. A 9mm and .38 are only one little millimeter smaller than the 10mm, which is similar to a .40 S&W, and that is only one little millimeter less than the 11mm, which is similar to the .45 ACP. Those familiar with handguns know that you can get a 9mm easy for concealing, (i.e.) Ruger SR-9 pistol with a 17 round capacity magazine while a standard 1911 .45 ACP type pistol usually holds a 7 round capacity magazine. So from the get go, when the gunfight breaks out, it's either 18 rounds vs. 8 rounds in the first volley of rounds.
There are those who disdain the 9mm as unsuitable for anything larger than snakes. How fast do we forget, prior to the Brady Campaign-Assault Weapons Ban, most of us packed 9mm as the weapon of choice because of the ease of handling and the extra magazine capacity. When the maximum 10 round magazine law went into effect under the Clinton administration, only then did everyone want to go to .45 ACP since they could get a 8, 9 or 10 round .45 ACP magazines. So the feeling was that one would rather have 10 rounds of .45 ACP instead of 10 rounds of 9mm. Now the 9mm is making its way back as the weapon of choice for the concealed handgun license holder.
I know some of you are curious what I carry. It varies, the other night at Wal-Mart, it was the 1911 when the thugs approached me. But most of the time, it's a 9mm, I rarely carry the 1911 on my body but leave it as my 'in vehicle' weapon of choice stuffed in between the seat and console of my truck. Some may disagree with me on this one but I'll still be firing while you're reloading.

Bad Day at the Office
Even if you're one of the lucky ones who love their job, there are going to be times when the cubicle closes in. There are times when you want to assume a new identity and fly away leaving no trail behind. Could your day be as bad as these?
Have a great Monday.

The Economy
Recently, President Bush announced that each one of us would get $600. It was supposed to be $800 but he said that he could not afford that much. There are other amounts depending on individual circumstances.
However, if we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China. If we spend it on gasoline or diesel it will go to the Arabs, and neither will help the American economy.
We need to keep this money here in America, so the only way I can see to keep this money here at home is to buy beer, spend it on hookers, gamble at native American casinos or play golf, since these are the only businesses still in the U.S.!
Your cooperation will be appreciated. Buy local and often.
Have a safe weekend.

Russia Armed in Space
A little known fact is that Russian cosmonauts have been packing heat in space for the last 20 years. Russia is sending a cosmonaut into space without their "space pistol" for the first time since 1986. This is due to the fact that there isn't any ammunition available for it. The gun's original ammunition has deteriorated so much that it is no longer viable and no new bullets are available. In 1982, the Russians developed the TP-82, which was developed to carry into space but not to be used to fend off hostile outer space aliens. Instead, the purpose was to protect the cosmonauts in case they landed back on Earth in a hostile area. This pistol fires hunting rounds as well as rifle bullets and signal flares. The butt serves as a machete and a spade.
Currently, Russian cosmonauts have a standard Russian made pistol aboard their Soyuz space capsule. American astronauts are unarmed at their space station, so the Russians are one up on us when it comes to arms in space. NASA believes that there is no need for a weapon in space. I wonder if Lisa Nowak differs with NASA's opinion?

Semper Fi Act of 2008
This makes my heart feel good! Sure hope it passes. I didn't see any comments by Boxer and Feinstein.
Senators Introduce Semper Fi Act of 2008
Bill Stops Berkeley Earmarks and Transfers Funds to Marine Corps
Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senators James Inhofe (R-Oklahoma), Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina), Saxby Chambliss (R-Georgia), Tom Coburn, M.D. (R-Oklahoma), John Cornyn (R-Texas), and David Vitter (R-Louisiana) introduced the Semper Fi Act of 2008. The bill would rescind over $2 million in hidden earmarks for Berkeley, California in the 2008 Omnibus Appropriations bill, and transfer the funds to the Marine Corps. U.S. Congressman John Campbell (R-California) is introducing a companion bill in the House of Representatives.
Last week, the City Council of Berkeley voted to oust Marine Corps recruiters from their downtown office, saying the Marines were "uninvited and unwelcome intruders." Berkeley officials also voted to give the radical protest group Code Pink space outside the recruitment office and urged them to "impede, passively or actively" the work of Marine Corps recruiters.
One earmark provides $243,000 in taxpayer dollars for the organization Chez Panisse to create gourmet organic school lunches in the Berkeley School District. Chez Panisse is dedicated to "environmental harmony" and their menu features "Comté cheese soufflé with mâche salad," "Meyer lemon éclairs with huckleberry coulis," and "Chicory salad with creamy anchovy vinaigrette and olive toast."
Another earmark would spend $975,000 in taxpayer dollars for the University of California in Berkeley Matsui Center for Politics and Public Service, to create a new endowment and cataloging the papers of Congressman Robert Matsui. U.C. Berkeley currently already has a $3.5 billion endowment.
Senator Inhofe: "Unfortunately, those on the Berkeley city council do not seem to understand the sacrifice of the brave men and women of the United States Marine Corps. By interfering with military recruiting, the city of Berkeley is hampering our ability to protect this nation. While the city of Berkeley and the protestors are free to say whatever they like, free speech is not a protection from consequence."
Senator DeMint: "Berkeley needs to learn that their actions have consequences. Patriotic American taxpayers won't sit quietly while Berkeley insults our brave Marines and tries to run them out of town. Berkeley City Council members have shown complete ingratitude to our military and their families, and the city doesn't deserve a single dime of special pet project handouts."
Senator Cornyn: "The Berkeley City Council insulted our troops and offended people across the country. If the U.S. Marines are not good enough for Berkeley, neither are taxpayer dollars Congress would have sent there this year. That city closed its doors on the same individuals taking bullets on the front lines while fighting for the safety and freedom of families in Berkeley and throughout America."
Senator Vitter: "The actions of the City Council of Berkeley are in stark contrast to beliefs of the vast majority of Americans who recognize and honor the service and sacrifice of our U.S. Marines. This is simply unacceptable and those funds could be better utilized by the Marine Corps."
Dr. Coburn: "The actions by the city of Berkeley are deplorable and insulting to those who are serving and those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect the very freedoms that are being exercised to insult them. I know I stand with the majority of Americans in thanking our service men and women for their selfless service to our nation."
Senator Chambliss: "We need to send a strong message that our military personnel deserve our strongest support. Georgia is a proud military state, and my constituents will be out outraged to know that during a time of war, their taxpayers dollars have been used to reward folks who have insulted and disparaged those who defend this nation every day."

Adios Rebecca Aguilar
Last October in Dallas, Rebecca Aguilar, reporter for KDFW Fox4, ambushed a 70 year old man with tv mic and camera for protecting himself and his property. James Walton shot and killed a thug trying to break into his business. James Walton is owner of Able Walton Machine and Welding on the west side of Dallas. It was the second time that Mr. Walton shot a burglar in three weeks. After each shooting, Dallas Police Dept. took Mr. Walton's shotgun, so he needed to purchase another gun to protect himself. As he exits a local Academy store, Fox4 reporter Aguilar is waiting for him in the parking lot. First of all, Fox4 must have stalked Mr. Walton to know that he was at the Academy store. When Mr. Walton tries to get into his car with his newly purchased Remington shotgun, Rebecca Aguilar is standing in his way and badgering this crime victim with her microphone and cameras in his way. After much outcry from viewers, Rebecca Aguilar was suspended with pay for the way she handled this story. Now the great news after all of this liberal media fiasco, Rebecca Aguilar is given the boot by Fox4. This Wednesday, Mic Happy Rebecca Aguilar found a letter under her door mat from Fox4 advising her that she was terminated. Adios to the 14 year veteran of tv news and receiptant of the "Broadcast Journalist of the Year" award from the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. I hope other journalist are taking notes and remember what happens when the public thinks a story is as repulsive as this one. And don't come knocking for a broadcast job in Southeast Texas either.

McCain-Kennedy/One of the Same
I can't forget the amnesty bill back in 2006 and those behind it. It should have been named "McKennedy" immigration bill since John McCain and Teddy Dunk'm Kennedy were the sponsors of this terrible legislation. Immigration reform should improve U.S. security and border control then identify illegal aliens. After the illegals are caught and identified, ship them back to their birthplace. There aren't any candidates in the presidential race that will do this, so we are up the creek without a paddle for the next 4 years if you were hoping for real reforms. Oh wait, John McCain has come up with a new idea since he is going to be the Republican nominee. Now he is saying his version of a guest worker plan would actually force many illegal aliens to leave the country over the next couple of years. Lets see if Teddy Kennedy will support McCain's latest plan for illegal aliens.
How did we end up with Hillbillary Clinton, Bawacko Obama and John McKennedy?
Everyone bundle up for the weekend, and stay safe.

Truth About Taxes
Tax truth
At first I thought this was funny...then I realized the awful truth of it.
Be sure to read all the way to the end!
Tax his land, Tax his bed,
Tax the table, At which he's fed .
Tax his tractor, Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes, Are the rule.
Tax his cow, Tax his goat,
Tax his pants, Tax his coat.
Tax his ties, Tax his shirt,
Tax his work, Tax his dirt.
Tax his tobacco, Tax his drink,
Tax him if he, Tries to think.
Tax his cigars, Tax his beers,
If he cries, then Tax his tears.
Tax his car, Find other ways.
Tax all he has, Then let him know,
That you won't be done, Till he has no dough.
When he screams and hollers,
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till, He's good and sore.
Then tax his coffin , Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in, Which he's laid.
Put these words upon his tomb,
" Taxes drove me to my doom..."
When he's gone, Do not relax,
Its time to apply, The inheritance tax.

Best Flashlight on the Market/ FMG-9
Nothing worse than trying to walk your dog down the block and a car load of thugs drive up next to you and want your money and dog. Not all of us can afford the luxury of having a helicopter at our disposal to just fly away but I do have the next best solution. This new flashlight is a must for anyone walking the streets of Port Arthur, as well as all the other unsafe areas of Jefferson County. It might impressed those two dudes at the Walmart parking lot last weekend.
Be safe and remember to vote tomorrow.

The Latest Annie Oakley
The United States averted an international incident after a Crawford, Texas Grandma almost bagged an overseas journalist for stepping on her property. The lady came out of her house after seeing a stranger walking in her front lawn. She was packing what appears in this photo as being something of heavy metal and at least 32 ounces in weight. After advising him that he was trespassing, she told him to leave her property. You got to love those Texas Castle Doctrine laws recently passed by the last legislature. She probably doesn't have any problems with door to door salesmen either. To this lady, I salute you.
